Rocky Patel Cigars are among the most popular in the world today. The brand was created by Rakesh "Rocky" Patel, a onetime entertainment attorney with a thriving practice in Hollywood. Although rocky patel cigars was his breakthrough brand, it wasn't his first. Rocky and a partner initially founded the Indian Tabac Cigar Company in 1995, funded, in part, with proceeds from the sale of his law practice. The first blend, "Indian Tabac," was launched shortly thereafter, and was met with favorable reviews and sales. The company broke into the cigar industry during a period widely regarded as the "cigar boom," which began in 1992 with the publication of Cigar Aficionado magazine, and subsided in 1997. This boom period saw demand far outpace supply. The Indian Tabac brand and its various offshoots would lay the foundation for future successes. In 2002, the name of the company was changed to Rocky Patel Premium Cigars. rocky patel cigars came the following year, in the form of Vintage 1990 and Vintage 1992. Both took the cigar world by storm, employing a blend of Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos in Maduro and Ecuadorian Sumatra wrappers, respectively. Cigar Aficionado awarded the Vintage 1990 a "92" rating, while the Vintage 1992 was rated "90." Not content with such success, Rocky Patel released "The Edge," a blend designed to appeal to seasoned cigar smokers who craved stronger, more Cuban-like cigars. In 2008, the Rocky Patel Decade was rated "95" by Cigar Aficionado. Since then, he has released several more highly-rated cigars, and has partnered with retailers to release innumerable private-label brands.
